Welcome to the "Hands On" Quilt Show website.
What is a "Hands On" Quilt Show?
This is a show where quilts and pillows are also interpreted in textured paper for the blind. Finally, a blind person can see designs of quilts and pillows by touching the fabric with their fingers. Textured paper template is used to design the quilt block or pillow and a brail guide directs the person to where the different colors lay on the fabric.
Kim Deneault designer of “Raggedy Reverse Applique” will have several of her quilts on display at the Lincolnton Cultural Center Art Gallery in November 2009. Included will be pillows that will also be interpreted in the textured paper. The exhibit is sponsored by The Arts Council of Lincoln County of Lincolnton North Carolina.
Kim has been featured on HGTV Simply Quilts, PBS Sewing With Nancy, TheQuiltShow.com, QNNtv.com, Quilter’s World Magazine, and numerous other articles.
Her technique is very tactile so the division between colors is easy to feel.
We will post more information and we hope you will be able to attend this event.
